"Body image is something that I have struggled with throughout m life. Society has influenced young girls to look a certain way to become the "ideal" woman. Constantly being bombarded with images through social media, girls are becoming increasingly judgmental of their peers as well as themselves. As I have matured, I have accepted my body, feeling confident and knowing that I have control. Being affected by body image politics, I was inspired to create this work to show how stunning women are, both inside and out. The work shows girls of all shapes and sizes, presenting their uniqueness and beauty. The figures were based on people close to me. Personally, knowing the participants allowed access to their individual insights regarding their bodies, which translated to specific process decisions, in terms of color and form. A huge thank you to my models who let me use their bodies. And my father who assisted me in producing the work. Without them I would not have been able to accomplish this project."
