Notes

General Note
"Companionship: A feeling of fellowship or friendship. In this collection of paintings, the artist conveys the connection between canine companions of first responders and military members. Within these dogs, the artist portrays the owners themselves through color choice, figure placement, and form. Often, the outgoing and overly expressive personalities of dogs mirrors the stereotypically extroverted characteristics of those whose careers involved uniformed camaraderie. The bond between the human companions and their dogs parallels the loyalty held between humans and their comrades. Each dog in this series is a companion to, or works with, one or many members of various branches of service."
